My Creative Space - Love the Eclectic

I'm fond of asymmetrical necklaces and bringing together an eclectic mix of beads in an assortment of colours, textures, sizes and shapes. This week I did a bit of fine tuning on a colourful chunky necklace that features lovely earthy toned burnt orange, brown, black, deep red and cream beads. Here is the 'Amazon' necklace showing off a mix of new and vintage beads with its own one of a kind personality -

My Creative Space - Revamps

Every now and then, I cast a critical eye over pieces in my collection and select a few that scream out for a revamp. I've been keen to re-work a couple of pieces I made many months ago and here are the results:

I'm happy with the results and think it was worth the extra time to give them a makeover! I hope to list them soon.

My Creative Space - Necklaces + More Necklaces

I've been busy working on necklaces this week...getting amongst a range of colours and playing with different styles. Here is a sample of some of the necklaces made in the last few days.

Murphy Adventures - Working Hard

Here is Murphy working hard... doing what he does best... patrolling the backyard from his sunny vantage point on the lawn...making sure the local birds are under control (they sit along the fence where they can see him and they eyeball each other).

Working hard again... this time recovering after a bath and hair cut and checking out his bed sheets after they were brought in off the clothesline...he is really quite busy this week!

A busy weekend - Lunch + Red Necklaces

This weekend I've been amongst my stash of red beads and made a couple of multi-strand red necklaces. The multi-strand is elegant and timeless in terms of style. This is not the best of photos but shows the 3 strands gently intertwined.

Sunday was enjoyed by Iron Cove Bay lunching with friends.

Another stunning Sydney spring day!

Visit to Organic Markets

A glorious Sydney day to welcome Spring! Sydney has some great weekend markets and today my cousin Jane and I visited the Marrickville Organic Food Market. I came home with organic fruit, wholesome bread, yet another plant for the garden (..there is hardly any room left but I will squeeze it in), a treat or two and an even deeper love of my home city. The large community space that houses the market oozes a relaxed ambience with tons of organic food options and a wide range of second hand bits and pieces for up-cycling. It has a tangible community spirit and it's own unique charm.....definitely worth a visit.
